So a child that started lessons in September can be ready to play hymns by Christmas.   The Early Elementary books feature a duet part for the teacher, parent, sibling or another student to fill out the harmonies and make the piece sound very grown up. This is a graded series so there are three books at the Early Elementary level, followed by one at the Elementary level (after about a year of lessons), and then Late Elementary (after about two years of lessons). As supplemental books, it is good to keep them a little on the easy side to encourage the students to play for church or chapel often.
